Old Armory Building in Kenora

We are working on a cool floor for the old armory building in Kenora. We poured a new concrete floor to re-level the old floor. The pour was 11.5" thick at thickest and 2" thick at the thinnest. In this picture Carol lays out some stained glass flowers into what will be the foyer to their living quarters.

This flower pattern spans across a 10' area. We covered to the flowers with concrete for now but will polish the concrete down to expose the glass when we go back to acid stain the floor.

Harry and Stacey power trowelling the floor.

Alex shows off his power trowelling skills as well. The pour went very well. We even got to go fishing while we waited for the concrete to set up. Good times in Kenora.

Veins and Glass

Harry sets up the polisher for this large kitchen. Using GFRC allows us to have only two pieces.

Harry grinds the counters down to expose the inlaid glass.

Here is a picture of the exposed glass in the early stages.

This is the coolest vein we have done yet. This will be the island and focal point of the kitchen.

Pool Floors

We have been helping Urban Life with their pool floors. Wow is it hot in those holes.

It is really, really hot. Looks like Stacey and Harry are ready to be flipped.

Clarence shows off his incredible dedication to good work as he dangles himself over the edge of the deep end to remove two small roots.

Pouring and Stamping a Patio

Harry brings a barrel full of concrete to the patio as Stephane waits to rake it out.

Scaling a fence to finish the hard to get areas is tricky because you don't want to fall into the concrete. While Steph was concentrating very hard a bird flew by and made a deposit on his shoulder. Very funny.

Alex is stamping in a border texture that will be different from the rest of the patio.

Harry does some fine tuning touch ups.

The stamping is finished. Ashlar Slate with a smooth textured border. The release will be washed off to reveal the brown colour.

We used an espresso acid stain on the border and then sealed the patio.

Tamping Fun!

Harry and Alex are almost done tamping this driveway. Harry is still calm and collected but Alex is ready for the fun to end.

Stacey flips the stamp matts.

Fibre Optics

Fibre optic lights with colour...

or fibre optic lights that are white.

Twinkling Lights

Check out this video of our twinkling lights fibre optic vanity top. This is a really, really cool piece of concrete.

Sealing Cobblestone

Applying a sealer brings out the colour of the concrete and helps to strengthen the concrete by slowing down the hydration process.

This is a finished pic of the sealed driveway. We always seal two coats and add an anti-slip agent to our second coat.

This small driveway approach suits the house perfectly. The colour is Davis Colors, Sandstone.

More Fibre Optic Stuff

After stripping the forms on a fibre optic piece the fibres stick out.

Here Alex cuts off the fibres with a razor. I will have a picture with the light unit hooked up later this week.

32 Cypress Ridge Parkhill Show Home

This is a driveway for a Parkhill Homes showhome. Alex compacts the base while Mark levels the approach with the skid steer.

Harry and Stephane take a 'government' break and test the durability and strength of our tools.
